*Lead development and implementation of Global and Regional Purchasing Strategies and processes with the objective of minimizing total business costs. *Influence global purchasing strategy and processes through regular communication with global staff. Lead through all its responsible Opcos the implementation of Global strategies and achieve the objectives. *Lead the team of Purchasing Managers, Regional Commodity Buyers and Supplier Development Engineers by setting clear direction and goals and monitoring progress through regular one on ones, and in site visit to their Opcos. *Coach and develop members of the purchasing teams to optimize individual performance. *Plan and support funding, development, implementation of enabling IT equipment, process and systems to align with SMR best practice world-wide and to exceed customer expectations, driving continual improvement in processes and personnel performance. *Develops an overall plan to support steady growth in implementing the company's vision for the future. Member of the SMR Regional Executive Leadership team
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university. - Business Master's degree preferred. - Ten (10) years automotive experience. - 5 years purchasing and/or logistics automotive experience preferred. - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. - Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. - Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors through established formats and procedures. - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference - Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. - Good understanding of Profit and Loss (P&L) and balance sheet information. - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. - Free to travel regionally and internationally on an as required basis. - Appropriate professional certification preferred. - Fluent English required to be able to communicate within the Global Organization.
