1. Manage the Global Sourcing Groups with responsibility for member direction, group effectiveness, goal setting, member development, and budget compliance; 2. Assist the operating units in effectively importing materials from Asia by providing Asian based purchasing resources; 3. Develop Asian sourcing strategies to support the global sourcing strategies of all Sectors; 4. Develop the policies and practices that ensure reliable quality and service performance for the materials imported from Asia; 5. Make final decisions on price negotiation, terms and services provided by Asian sources; 6. Develop and implement measurements and performance reporting to all sectors; 7. Identify new Asian sources with strategic buyers, utilize suppliers and buyers to educate product design and marketing groups on Asian sources of new material concepts in products; 8. Develop sourcing contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted flow of materials and services; 9. Develop alternative suppliers within each commodity to leverage value; 10. Correct material shortages with minimal disruption and implement corrective actions to avoid repeat of issue by working with materials planning group and suppliers; 11. Provide supplier recommendations to operating units to ensure identified world-class Asian suppliers are considered in new product development projects; 12. Utilize purchasing systems and associated exception reports to manage purchased materials; 13. Manage and ensure the community of all the suppliers to achieve better cost and stronger relationships.
1. Bachelor degree, major in purchasing/materials logistics/manufacture engineering/product design; 2. Minimum 7 years' experience in purchasing/manufacturing/quality field; 3. Familiar with metal, plastic, fabric product sourcing process management. 4. Frequent travel, occasional overnight travel required.
